In DVD 2, Scene Management, Dalrymple addresses the overarching extrication process. As a first responder, it is important to understand proper scene size-up and management in order to set up a safe and efficient extrication. Dalrymple also covers scene safety, stabilization, and glass management, all skills important in allowing the responder to access and deal with patient considerations.
Responders have to stay ever mindful of their jobs and how they each fit into the overall extrication effort. Through efficient and deliberate operations on-scene, responders have a greater chance of a swift, safe, and successful extrication.
